Halloween!!!

Yesterday was an awesome day!  We got up really early and went to see the balloons take off.  It was so cold, but we had a blast!  The oldest balloon took off first.  Here it is inflating.
Once it left the ground the other balloons could begin to inflate.  Once it left the gound it took off really quickly.  The balloons were all in a race to Palo Duro Canyon.

The crews used huge fans to blow warm air into the balloons to inflate them.  Once they were full, they turned on the blowers to make the air rise so they could take off.  Here's a bunch inflating.  There were 30-something balloons there.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the balloons.  The sun rising made it look so pretty.  It's amazing how huge these balloons are.  Taylor loved it almost as much as Jackie and I did!

Here's what the sky over Amarillo looked like at about 8:20am on Saturday, October 31, 2009.  It was awesome.  I can only imagine how pretty it is at the huge balloon festival in New Mexico.

Did I mention it was cold??

After balloons, I went to work.  Jackie and Taylor cleaned out the car.  They did a great job!  It's amazing how dirty my car gets.  Something else I need to work on!  When I got home, Jackie and Taylor had bought pumpkins.  We all took a nap, then got up and carved or colored the pumpkins.  It's always a lot of fun.

Jackie did a great job cleaning all the seeds out of the insides of the pumpkins.  Taylor even helped him some!  She didn't really like the feeling of the stuff on her hands.  She got to use a sharpie and color all over her pumpkin.  Then we put them out on the front porch.

Here is the final result of Taylor's fairy costume!  She loved it!  She kept saying "wish!" and swinging her wand all around!  She laughed and laughed at all of the other kids in costumes.

Here's Jackie's costume.  Taylor helped pick it out.  She laughed when he put it on and said, "Mommy its not too scary!"  I had a cape and a long wig.  Guess I was the lady off the Adams' family.

We went to our neighbor's house first.  Taylor wanted to go inside everyone's house and visit.  Luckily we did the trick or treating in Panhandle so we knew the people.  Some even let her come inside.  She also wanted to know every dog's name.  It was so much fun!

When we got to Panhandle we stopped at the nursing home and visited my grandparents.  They were happy to see Taylor and everyone said she looked so cute.  They all thought she was an angel, but that's ok.  It made them smile and that was the point!  She loves to go see them.  It always makes Mema smile and that's such a good thing.Taylor was using her wand to write Mema a message that said, "Trick or Treat!"

They weren't too sure about Jackie's mask, so he didn't wear it very much.

Overall we had a Fabulous Halloween.  Mom drove the car while Jackie and I took her around to all the houses.  She got so much stuff.  She said she liked getting the candy.  But she sure was tired by the time we got home.  Both OU and Tech won, so it was a great day!  We went back to Mom and Dad's and ordered pizza and made a fire and watched the games.
Now we are getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas!  Can't wait!  That means school is almost over for the semester!  YEAH!
